CELPIP

CELPIP

CELPIP is another language proficiency measurement test designed to measure English proficiency. The acronym CELPIP stands for Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program which is administrated by Paragon Testing Enterprise and the paper is completely computerized that tests reading, listening, speaking and writing skills of the candidate. This test is actually required for Canadian permanent residency. The CELPIP test has two types:

  • CELPIP-General Test
    The CELPIP General Test comprises of four sections- listening, reading, speaking and writing which takes approximately 3 hours to complete.
  • CELPIP-General LS
    CELPIP-General LS is having two components only- Speaking and Listening which ends in about 1 hour and 10 minutes.

CELPIP Scoring

Each component of the CELPIP-General Test and the CELPIP-General LS Test is given a CELPIP level. Below is a chart of each CELPIP level and its corresponding description.
